Dr. Jonathan Tsai

BCA 2026 Young Investigator Grantee

Dr. Tsai is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Pathologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital. His distinguished career includes research at the California Institute of Technology, the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel as a Fulbright Fellow, and Stanford University, where he earned his MD and PhD in Developmental Biology. Today, his laboratory focuses on understanding how cells regulate proteins that control gene activity in breast cancer.

With support from Breast Cancer Alliance, Dr. Tsai is studying how changes in protein degradation affect the estrogen receptor, a key driver of many breast cancers. His research aims to uncover new ways to improve hormone therapies and overcome treatment resistance, bringing more effective options to patients with estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.
