Dr. Maya Petashnick is completing her general surgery residency at University of Connecticut, where she currently serves as Administrative Chief Resident. She earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. Her academic interests include the advancement of minimally invasive approaches in breast cancer surgery and the financial impact of breast cancer on patients. She is interested in improving patient experience and access to high-quality care. As a Connecticut native, she is excited to continue her training at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she looks forward to further developing her clinical expertise while engaging in rigorous academic and multidisciplinary breast oncology care. She aspires to pursue leadership roles in breast surgical oncology at a comprehensive cancer center or academic medical center.
