Sponsorships and Naming Opportunities - Breast Cancer Alliance

Sponsorships and Naming Opportunities

There are few words in this world more frightening than “you have cancer,” and yet 1 in 8 women will be told that they have breast cancer in their lifetime.  For the last two decades, Breast Cancer Alliance has worked to improve survival rates and quality of life for those affected by this disease.  You can help us achieve tremendous progress by partnering with us on this life-saving endeavor.

SPONSOR AN EVENT:

With a database exceeding 12,000 names, an event mailing list of 6,000, and a social media presence on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, plus traditional media outlets, sponsoring an event gives businesses large scale exposure for their event sponsorships, before, at and after each event.

Annual events with sponsorship opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • 5K Run/Walk for Hope

Held each spring, this event, which went from a 1-mile community walk to a respected 5K in May 2016, boasts hundreds of participants with a growing audience

  • Golf Outing

Now in its fourth year, this outing brings both men and women to the greens, pairing individuals in a successful day of networking and fun

  • Go For Pink

As a launch into National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a day of education and shopping, with proceeds from over 60 local and national retailers, is held in October

  • Benefit Luncheon and Fashion Show

BCA’s cornerstone event held at the end of October, now for its 21st year.  This event, with celebrity speakers and unparalleled celebration of survivorship, has over 900  attendees and raised over $1.4M in 2015 alone

NAME A GRANT:

The mission of the Breast Cancer Alliance is to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure. To promote these goals, we invest in innovative research, breast surgery fellowships, regional education, dignified support and screening for the underserved.

Four types of grants are offered annually: Exceptional Project Grants, Young Investigator Grants, Breast Surgery Fellowships and Education and Outreach Grants. We invite clinical doctors and research scientists whose primary focus is breast cancer research to apply for either the Exceptional Project or Young Investigator Grant. Society of Surgical Oncology accredited institutions may submit requests for funding for fellowship.  We invite Directors of programs that are directly related to breast cancer services to apply for the Education and Outreach Grant.

Young Investigator Grants: To encourage a commitment to breast cancer research, the Breast Cancer Alliance invites clinical doctors and research scientists whose primary focus is breast cancer and who are in the early stages of their careers, to apply for funding for the Young Investigator Grant. This grant is intended to help advance the careers of young researchers who do not yet have their own major grant support. This grant is open to applicants at institutions within a 200-mile radius of Greenwich, Connecticut (an area that includes cities such as Boston, Philadelphia and New York City.) This is a two year grant for a total of $125,000.

Exceptional Project Grants: The Breast Cancer Alliance invites clinical doctors and research scientists at any stage of their careers whose primary focus is breast cancer to apply for an Exceptional Project Grant. This award recognizes creative, unique and innovative research and is open to applicants at institutions, currently only within a 200-mile radius of Greenwich, Connecticut (an area that includes cities such as Boston, Philadelphia and New York City.) This is a one year grant for a total of $100,000.

Breast Surgical Fellowship Grants: The Breast Surgical Fellowship is awarded to institutions who have been accredited by the Society of Surgical Oncology for a minimum of 2 years, and be located in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. This is a one year grant for a total of $75,000.

Education and Outreach Grants: The Breast Cancer Alliance offers grants to support programs directly related to outreach and case managerial breast cancer services, including education, counseling and mammograms for the underserved. The programs must be located in Connecticut and/or Westchester County, New York. This is a one year grant, ranging in size from $5,000 to $50,000.
